Robert K. Salley, MD, attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine and received his medical degree in 1977. He served his internship and general surgery residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama (1977-1982). Furthermore, he conducted his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN (1980-1981), as well as his cardiothoracic residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY (1982-1984) and congenital cardiovascular residency at Greenlane Clinical Centre in Auckland, New Zealand (1984-1985). In addition, Dr. Salley received board certification in cardiothoracic surgery from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. And, he remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with local, state, national, and international professional societies and associations.
